AI Competitive Analysis and Positioning

Most competitive grids are stale. /crest-compete produces a parity grid, positioning 2x2, and table-stakes vs differentiator classification grounded in public info.

Competitive analysis tends to be a feature checklist that nobody updates. The team listed competitors a year ago, marked features green and red, and shipped the analysis to a Notion page. The competitor matrix is now wrong; the features that mattered then no longer matter; the differentiation the team thought it had has been copied.

The /crest-compete skill produces a competitive analysis with three layers. Feature parity grid against named competitors (where you are ahead, behind, missing). Positioning 2x2 on the two axes most relevant to the buying decision. Classification of features into table stakes (required to compete) versus differentiators (reasons to choose you). Grounded in publicly available information so it is updateable.

What the analysis includes

Parity grid: matrix of features vs competitors with status per cell. Positioning 2x2: axes the buyer cares about most. Classification: table stakes vs differentiator per feature. Strategic implications: which gaps to close, which differentiation to reinforce, which areas not to compete in.

Tonone's /crest-compete skill produces competitive analyses with parity grid, positioning 2x2, and table-stakes vs differentiator classification.
