AI Product to Engineering Handoff Flow

Briefs lose meaning in handoff. /helm-handoff validates a brief for measurable success, explicit out-of-scope, complete context, and packages it for Apex.

Briefs lose information in the handoff from product to engineering. The brief sounded clear when product wrote it; engineering reads it and finds three ambiguities that require a follow-up meeting. Each follow-up costs a day; cumulatively the handoff is the slowest part of the cycle.

The /helm-handoff skill validates a finalized brief for handoff-readiness. Success criteria measurable. Out-of-scope explicit. Context complete. Brief clear enough that engineering scoping (/apex-plan) can run without a follow-up meeting.

What the validation checks

Five checks. Success criteria are measurable and time-bounded. Out-of-scope items are listed with reasoning. Target user has specific context, not just demographic. Open questions are surfaced rather than buried. Format is what Apex expects so the package hands off cleanly.

Tonone's /helm-handoff skill validates briefs for handoff-readiness and packages them for engineering scoping.
